About The Position

Point Loma Nazarene University’s School of Nursing invites applications for two full-time faculty positions for the 2027–2028 academic year. Candidates with a terminal degree, such as a PhD or DNP, are encouraged to apply for tenure-track consideration; candidates with a master’s degree in nursing, including those pursuing a doctoral degree, are encouraged to apply for professional-track consideration. Appointment track will be determined according to the candidate’s qualifications and university policy. The School of Nursing educates approximately 500 students across traditional BSN, RN-BSN, MSN, and DNP programs. The traditional BSN program is face-to-face; the RN-BSN, MSN, and DNP programs are generally online, with occasional hybrid opportunities. Faculty will teach a variety of courses across nursing programs and contribute to the School’s commitment to quality teaching, Christian community, high-impact academic practices, and collaborative, interprofessional work. Responsibilities begin in August 2027. PLNU is a Christian liberal arts university in the evangelical, Wesleyan tradition. It seeks faculty who support its religious and educational goals, are committed to Christian liberal arts education, and will contribute to the university’s community and mission.
