About The Position

Lakeland Community College is seeking part-time faculty instructors for the spring semester to teach welding courses. The college serves over 5,000 students annually, offering a range of educational programs from college credit courses for high school students to workforce preparation through certificates, associate degrees, and transfer options. Instructors will be responsible for classroom instruction, maintaining course records, grading, and contributing to program and course curriculum development. Available courses include WELD 1030 Fundamentals of Arc Welding (daytime), WELD 1300 Thermal Cutting, Gouging, Brazing, and Soldering (daytime), WELD 1370 Basic Pipe Welding (evening), and WELD 2370 Advanced Pipe Welding (evening).

Requirements

  • 3+ years of continuous or contingent employment in the welding/fabrication field
  • AWS Certification/Credential or equivalent (if applicable to the course)
  • Training from a licensed or recognized program, company, or school

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching or leading relevant training in industry
  • 5+ years of continuous employment in the area of welding/fabrication
