About The Position

Houston Community College (HCC) is seeking a Faculty Tutor III to play a central role in keeping everyday operations running smoothly. This position offers the opportunity to make things happen and work closely with inspiring leaders across different parts of the institution. The team provides HCC students with cutting-edge academic and career tools and also takes care of its people.

Requirements

• Same credential as required to teach in the subject area (Photocopy of transcript must accompany application).
• Three (3) years of relevant work experience in the related academic area of study.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Must be well organized, task-oriented and flexible
• Must possess good interpersonal skills to perform successfully in a large multicultural environment
• Must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Tutor all students in any setting, including college-level academic transfer courses.
• Ask and answer academic questions, using examples relating to a particular subject.
• Provide analytic and diagnostic services for students increasing affective work results.
• Process new students assuring individuals’ learning needs are met.
• Provide support services required during semester.
• Evaluate and recommend tutoring materials.
• May assist in tracking student performance.
