The University of Virginia School of Law seeks a Faculty Support Coordinator to join the Faculty Support department. Faculty Support is responsible for supporting all Law School faculty with a wide variety of responsibilities in event services, instruction, and administrative areas. The School of Law is consistently recognized as one of the top law schools in the country, with a dynamic faculty who excel in teaching, scholarship, and service. The Law School takes pride in its keen sense of collegiality among students, faculty, and staff and its commitment to excellence and service. The environment at the Law School is both active and vibrant, with large-scale and smaller events taking place year-round. This position reports to the Law School’s Director of Faculty Support and is responsible for a wide range of activities to help plan and support faculty workshops and special events. The position also provides general administrative support to faculty for programs and colloquia as part of the faculty support team. While most Law School events take place during regular business hours, some evening and weekend work may be required. This public-facing position regularly interacts with faculty, faculty visitors, event guests, including high-profile visitors and speakers, with responsibility for helping create a positive guest experience. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage complex projects and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills, and be able to show discretion and good judgment.
