About The Position

The Faculty Program Lead for the Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Program will report to and receive supervision from the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health. This role involves attending and contributing to teaching as assigned, supporting and sustaining relationships with partnering organizations, and providing consultation to faculty and students. The Lead will also develop and maintain curriculum and teaching resource materials, assist with faculty and student recruitment and mentorship, monitor student progress and compliance, and attend faculty meetings. Additionally, the position promotes evidence-based teaching/learning practices and assists faculty and students with research/scholarship endeavors.

Requirements

  • MS or MSN; DNP preferred.
  • Licensed to practice as an RN and/or APRN in the State of Ohio.
  • Successfully completed an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum three years of experience in nursing and or higher education.
  • Minimum 5 years in nursing and/or advanced nursing practice.
  • Other licensure as relevant to the specific program.
  • Assistant Professor or above rank preferred.
  • Experience with adult learners preferred.
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience in a graduate level nursing program.
  • Experience teaching in an online program.
  • A strong desire for leadership development.
  • Experience in curriculum development and educational administration preferred.
  • Effective Communication Skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer and other contemporary instructional technology.

Nice To Haves

  • DNP preferred.
  • Assistant Professor or above rank preferred.
  • Experience with adult learners preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum development and educational administration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report to and receive supervision from the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health.
  • Attend and contribute to teaching as assigned by the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health.
  • Support and sustain relationships of partnering organizations.
  • Provide consultation to faculty and students.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum and teaching resource materials related to area of specialization and program.
  • Assist the Dean of Nursing and Allied health with recruitment and mentorship of faculty and students.
  • Monitor the progress and compliance of students.
  • Attend and participate in regular faculty meetings.
  • Promote evidence-based teaching/learning practices among faculty.
  • Assist faculty and students with required research/scholarship endeavors, as applicable.
