About The Position

The Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is actively seeking BE/BC Intensivists to join our faculty. Physicians who specialize in adult critical care medicine and clinical, translational, or health services research related to intensive care are eligible for this position. The candidate is expected to develop an independent, extramurally funded research program that aligns with the mission and research priorities of the Department. Candidates must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a strong dedication to educating the next generation of clinicians. The ideal candidate will showcase exceptional clinical expertise, an ability to collaborate effectively with physician leaders from various specialties, and the aptitude to implement changes that align with best medical practices, institutional goals, and regulatory requirements. The candidate is expected to provide clinical care in one or more ICUs in the UPMC Health system; and actively participate in the education of fellows, residents, and students.

Requirements

  • BE/BC Intensivist
  • Specialization in adult critical care medicine.
  • Clinical, translational, or health services research related to intensive care.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong dedication to educating the next generation of clinicians.
  • M.D, D.O. degree.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership (for Assistant Professor level).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (required).
  • Strong commitment to teaching the next generation of clinicians and scientists.

Nice To Haves

  • Neurocritical care subspecialty training.
  • Additional masters or PhD-level research training in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated success in developing grant proposals.
  • Demonstrated success in publishing in the peer-reviewed literature.

Responsibilities
