Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Radiotherapy Physics Division in the Department of Medical Physics is hiring for two Assistant or Associate Attending Physicist positions, equivalent to Assistant or Associate Professor, to support radiation oncology physics services at its Manhattan facilities. Both roles combine routine clinical support with implementing novel technologies and procedures, and candidates are expected to make a significant contribution to clinical research and development. One position focuses on clinical support in brachytherapy and external beam radiation therapy, particularly the implementation of new brachytherapy technologies and procedures. The other focuses on external beam radiation therapy, particularly motion management and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT). Candidates will join MSK’s enterprise-wide radiotherapy physics team and collaborate with radiation oncologists, radiologists, and other medical professionals to advance cancer care. The Manhattan program treats more than 700 brachytherapy patients annually and has a physics team of more than 75 staff. The Manhattan facilities have a broad range of radiation therapy, imaging, and brachytherapy equipment, including linear accelerators, an MR-linac, adaptive linacs, CT and MRI simulators, PET/CT, HDR afterloaders, and a superficial radiotherapy unit. MSK’s research and development programs include brachytherapy applications, predictive models, treatment-planning optimization, integration of MR and PET imaging, 4D imaging and motion management, adaptive radiotherapy, AI and automation, and quality and safety innovation.
