About The Position
Riverside is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician to join the Riverside/VCU Family Medicine Residency Program faculty in Newport News, Virginia. This program is the largest and oldest Family Medicine program in Virginia, with a long history of successful graduates. As a faculty physician, you will contribute to an educational experience that equips resident physicians with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for independent practice and leadership in Family Medicine. The program holds Osteopathic Recognition with the ACGME and aims to prepare residents for certification by the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Association. The faculty physician reports directly to the Family Medicine Residency Program Director.
Requirements
- Board certified in Family Medicine.
- Eligible for licensure in the state of Virginia.
- Academic credentials demonstrating a strong interest in teaching, mentoring, scholarship, and clinical care.
- Meet comprehensive professional standards.
- Have a current, valid state of Virginia medical license or be eligible for one.
- Have a current, valid DEA controlled substance registration.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Collaborative approach with other physicians and providers.
Responsibilities
- Provide an educational experience enabling resident physicians to obtain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to practice independently.
- Become innovative leaders in Family Medicine, education, and scholarship.
- Deliver education and skill-building opportunities for residents to achieve certification with the American Board of Family Medicine or American Osteopathic Association.
- Provide clinical care in both community-based clinic and hospital settings.
