The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Massachusetts Lowell seeks a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach three sections of Elementary Italian in Spring 2027, or two sections of Elementary Italian with the possibility of a third course on Italian culture taught in English, depending on the program’s needs. The appointment begins January 10 and ends May 15, 2027. The instructor will teach 3 contact hours per week per section and coordinate with the Italian program on shared syllabi, materials, and assessment. Sections meet on South Campus on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The ideal candidate will enhance the student learning experience by employing a range of effective teaching methods and strategies, with an emphasis on communicative language teaching, alignment with ACTFL proficiency standards, and the creation of an engaging, student-centered learning environment.
