About The Position

The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine at Las Cruces, NM seeks applications from qualified physicians (DO or MD) of any academic rank for the position of Faculty, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM). Candidate must have a desire to join a collaborative teaching team working to help train the next generation of compassionate and competent osteopathic physicians in an integrated curriculum environment, focusing on practical applications in clinical care, and caring for the underserved. The selected candidate will subscribe to and support our commitment to the College’s Mission. This position reports to the Chair of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM). This position is Exempt. This position starts as soon as possible - start date negotiable. Full or part time available - FTE negotiable. The selected candidate will support Burrell College’s organizational health initiatives, focusing on enhancing leadership, promoting clarity of purpose, improving communication, and reinforcing a respectful, purpose-driven culture. This role is key to fostering a healthy, high-performing organization that values integrity, transparency, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Medical license and Board certification or eligibility in NMM/OMM or equivalent, or any specialty with “+OMT”
  • Effective verbal, electronic, and written communication
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous academic experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and giving lectures and laboratory presentations in electronic and live format
  • Skills training in the OMM laboratory
  • Item writing and ongoing quality improvement for written examinations
  • Preparation for and assessment of students in practical examinations
  • Assisting in the ongoing development and quality of curricula
  • Participation in faculty development and CME in areas of responsibility
  • Interviewing candidates for the osteopathic medicine degree program and other service as assigned
  • Following policies, procedures, and practices consistent with the vision and mission of the College
  • Other duties as assigned by Chair of OMM
