About The Position

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston's Department of Neurology is seeking a non-tenure-track neurologist in our clinical EMG/Neuromuscular Program. The candidate will join a busy and growing subspecialty practice and be part of a dynamic department with all neurologic subspecialties represented. Besides a busy outpatient practice, we have strong EMG and neuromuscular pathology programs. The group also participates in clinical trials, and there are ongoing translational research efforts in inflammatory/autoimmune neuromuscular conditions. We provide an academic environment with ample research opportunities, teaching medical students, residents, or fellows, or participating in inpatient care, based on the candidate's interests and background.

Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Graduates of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited neurology residency.
  • Completion of a neurophysiology or neuromuscular fellowship
  • Active board-certification and be licensed in the State of Texas (or eligible to be licensed).
  • Outstanding clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills, coupled with excellent administrative and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • EMGs and clinical care of patients with neuromuscular disorders.
  • Teaching opportunities are available.
  • Participating in inpatient care, based on the candidate's interests and background.
