About The Position

The Division of Medical Physics at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a board-certified Medical Physicist to join their growing team. This role will support the current clinical practice and aid in preparation for the first in the nation Carbon-Ion Therapy Center. The ideal candidate will have a record of accomplishment demonstrating academic and clinical productivity in therapeutic medical physics, including clinical practice, project management, research achievement, and educational excellence. The new building opened in 2025 for photon treatments, followed by proton therapy in 2027 and the first Carbon Therapy system in North America in 2028. The Medical Physics Division currently has seventeen board certified medical physicists and will grow substantially in the next several years in preparation and deployment of the particle therapy center. The Division also includes a medical physics residency program. The Division is a seasoned and cohesive team responsible for all aspects of therapy physics in support of clinical practice, education, and research in radiation oncology.

Requirements

Board-certified Medical Physicist.
Record of accomplishment demonstrating academic and clinical productivity in therapeutic medical physics.
Experience in clinical practice, project management, research achievement and educational excellence.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a proton or carbon center is encouraged but not required.
