About The Position

The Medical College of Wisconsin Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a physician that has completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in cardiovascular disease, and that is board certified or board eligible in cardiovascular disease for an advanced cardiac imaging fellowship as a faculty instructor. This one-year program will focus on advanced echocardiographic experience (including intra-procedural TEE for structural heart cases such as left atrial appendage occluders, mitral and tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair, transcatheter tricuspid and mitral valve replacement, PFO/ASD/VSD closure, etc.) and cardiac MRI imaging with options for increased nuclear and computerized tomography exposure. This program includes research opportunities and teaching faculty includes both cardiologists and radiologists. Upon completion, the fellow will be considered Level III in both echocardiography and cardiac MRI as delineated in the ACC/AHA COCATS 4 document (with optional additional focus in CT or nuclear). The fellow will take an active role in cardiology fellow and resident training and participate in didactic teaching sessions with the cardiology fellowship to provide a comprehensive review of multimodality cardiac imaging. There is an opportunity to complete coursework for a Master’s degree in Clinical and Translational sciences.

Requirements

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited cardiovascular disease (general cardiology) fellowship.
  • Board certification or Board eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease.
  • Documented Level II competency (as defined by COCATS) guidelines in at least one primary imaging area, such as echocardiography.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Wisconsin.
