Faculty - Foundations Lab/Clinical - College of Nursing
About The Position
Grand Canyon University is seeking a full-time Foundations Lab/Clinical Nursing Faculty member for its ABSN E. Valley location in Chandler/East Valley. The College of Nursing has a 30-year history of providing outstanding healthcare and nursing degree programs. As a Foundations Lab/Clinical Nursing Faculty Member, you will provide instruction in lab/clinical settings, utilizing innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies, and reflecting industry trends. GCU is looking for motivated individuals passionate about teaching in modern facilities with smaller class sizes. Requirements
- Master’s degree required (MSN)
- 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience
- An active, current and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Arizona or a compact state
Nice To Haves
- Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and preceptors
- Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g. membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications preferred)
Responsibilities
- Reinforce didactic content and teach in the context of the clinical and lab application of knowledge and skills related to pre-licensure Nursing
- Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical and lab objectives
- Participate in grading written and Clinical/Lab performance check-offs
- Preserve lines of communication with program faculty and director, including attendance in select faculty meetings
- Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice
- Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
- Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
- Travel to student clinical sites to directly observe student performance
