About The Position

The Whitefield Fellows Program provides guidance, training, and practical experience to college graduates considering teaching as a career. Faculty Fellows are treated as colleagues within their departments, not as interns or student teachers. They teach in real-life lower, middle, or upper school classroom settings while working with a mentor teacher. As the academic year progresses, fellows gradually assume the main teaching responsibilities under their mentor’s guidance. The position includes classroom instruction, individual support for students, professional development, meetings, and participation in athletics or co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Under a mentor teacher’s guidance, fellows may plan and deliver instruction, assess and communicate about student progress, maintain records, use technology, and advise students in middle or upper school. This is a full-time position beginning August 2, 2027.
