Faculty Fellow

Whitefield Academy•Smyrna, GA

About The Position

The Whitefield Fellows Program provides guidance, training, and practical experience to college graduates considering teaching as a career. Faculty Fellows are treated as colleagues within their departments—not as interns or student teachers—and teach in lower, middle, or upper school classrooms under the mentorship of colleagues. Fellows team-teach with a mentor teacher and gradually assume the main teaching responsibilities over the course of the year. Ideally, most fellows teach at least one class by the end of the first grading period. The role combines classroom teaching and student support with professional development, collaboration, and participation in school activities. Depending on the school division, a Fellow may also serve as an advisor to 10–15 students. This full-time position is scheduled to begin August 2, 2027.
