About The Position

Tyonek is seeking applications for Faculty Developer candidates to perform duties related to designing, developing, and delivering educational courses and training programs. This role involves creating formal educational courses, e-learning products, and performance support systems, producing instructional materials, and providing instruction on various educational principles. The Faculty Developer will apply Instructional Systems Development (ISD) principles, plan and facilitate training for instructional staff, and deliver instruction in diverse environments. The position also requires assessing educational needs, evaluating instructor performance, analyzing human behavior for performance improvement, and coordinating training plans with government leads.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree.
  • Must be a graduate of both of the following: 1. A collegiately accredited instructional methods course (e.g., Basic Instructor Course [BIC] or Instructor Methodology Course [IMC]). 2. An Air Force ISD Course (e.g., AETC ADDIE or an approved equivalent).
  • Must meet one of the following criteria: CCAF Certified Instructor Course (CIC) Level 1 Certification OR AETC Master Instructor Certification.
  • 1,000 hours of documented formal training instruction (including at least 400 hours specifically instructing faculty development courses).
  • Top Secret Clearance/SCI required.
  • Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
  • On occasion must be able to lift 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop formal educational courses, e-learning products, and electronic performance support systems for Learning Management System (LMS) integration.
  • Produce comprehensive instructional materials, including training manuals, Plans of Instruction (POIs), syllabi, visual aids, and laboratory guides.
  • Provide instruction on authoring cognitive and performance objectives, grading rubrics, and performance evaluations.
  • Apply Instructional Systems Development (ISD) principles to continuously analyze and optimize curriculum design and training methodologies.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate Train-the-Trainer programs, orientations, and continuous learning seminars for instructional staff.
  • Deliver instruction across in-residence, Mobile Training Team (MTT), and Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) environments using diverse techniques (e.g., simulations, role-playing, lectures).
  • Instruct current and future developers on adult learning theories, classroom management, student engagement techniques, and fundamental instructor attributes.
  • Assess educational and training needs through surveys, focus groups, interviews, and leadership consultations.
  • Evaluate instructor performance through direct observation, providing actionable feedback and recommendations to strengthen teaching skills.
  • Analyze human behavior, motivation, and individual learning styles to improve overall individual and organizational performance.
  • Coordinate student instructor training plans directly with Government Team Leads and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
