About The Position

The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is seeking a full-time faculty member for the Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders (BS-CSD) program. In this role, you will provide high-quality instruction using innovative teaching methodologies, emerging technologies, and evidence-based practices that prepare students for careers and graduate study in communication sciences and disorders. You will collaborate with faculty and program leadership to maintain academic excellence, support continuous curriculum improvement, and contribute to the ongoing growth of the department. Opportunities may also be available to support the recently launched Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) program.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have earned a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or a related area.
  • Active, current, unencumbered, unrestricted SLP license and ASHA CCC-SLP are required.
  • Candidates must be eligible for Arizona licensure.
  • Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (i.e., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and /or publications).
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: speech sound disorders and/or phonology, motor speech disorders, hearing-related communication disorders, and training/supervising SLPAs.
  • Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related area.
  • University teaching experience.
  • Experience as a clinical instructor/clinical supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction to students.
  • Stimulate class discussions.
  • Provide students with feedback on examinations and assignments.
  • Remain current with new trends and developments in field of expertise.
  • Participate in activities that support the development of the program.
  • Maintain a course load consistent with the university's definition of full-time status (80-100 students).
