Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) is seeking highly qualified educators with broad training and demonstrated experience or enthusiasm for teaching in an integrated pre-clerkship medical school curriculum. This position is a tenure track, 12-month appointment on the Macon, Georgia campus. Additional duties will be required/assigned during the summer. The departmental assignment will be based on degree type and experience. Responsibilities: Successful candidates will have a strong record of scholarly activity and evidence of medical or graduate teaching expertise. MUSM focuses on educating physicians and healthcare professionals to meet the primary care and health care needs of rural and medically underserved areas in Georgia. Faculty members are expected to participate broadly across the curricula and engage in scholarly activities in area of Bioethics and Medical Humanities. Additional duties include course administration and contributions to institutional/departmental governance and service. Experience in health professions education and with innovative learning strategies including the ability to facilitate large and small interactive sessions is preferred. Teaching faculty will play a key role in the continued development and implementation of an integrated, cross-disciplinary curriculum that includes small and large group case-based and team-based learning, and other active teaching-learning methods.
