About The Position

The Facilities Technician (FT) is a key member of the Center operational team and specifically the Facilities Department. The FT will display a concentrated knowledge of specific facilities and property management matters including, but not limited to: minor equipment/property renovations/repair, troubleshooting appliances and building systems, handling preventative maintenance tasks and coordinating Material Management related tasks such as equipment procurement and contracted vendor relations. It is paramount this position exhibits excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills alongside the ability to effectively manage time and organize operational logistics.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of four years displaying competency in general plumbing, electrical, carpentry and basic trade knowledge.
  • Skills in painting, carpet work, grounds maintenance and drywall repair are required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, basic schematics and equipment manuals.
  • Certifications such as, but not limited to: Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO)
  • Effective communication and other interpersonal skills.
  • No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months
  • Pass Background Check
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, motors and motor controls, boilers and chillers a plus (EPA certification not required).

Responsibilities

  • Assure proper functioning of the physical plant building systems including but not limited to HVAC, bodies of water, utilities and environmental services.
  • Manage routine and specialized swimming pool maintenance on pools, equipment, aquatics pool/boiler rooms, pool filtration, and ozone systems; coordinates pool chemistry management and health code compliance.
  • Rebuild and repair equipment, structures and furniture; prepare surfaces for painting and apply surface coverings as required.
  • Working knowledge of the fire, life safety, and other safety programs of the facility, and ensure other members of the on-site staff follow the safety programs.
  • Provides monthly reporting to the General Manager as requested specific to equipment repair status, supplies inventory, warranty and PM programming and capital replacement plans.
  • Develop and implement logistical workflows needed to achieve an effective and efficient operation related to managing the facility.
  • Oversee maintenance of adequate stock of supplies and materials; assist with equipment procurement and supply ordering process.
  • Ensure workshop/storage areas are organized, clean and safe.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive maintenance logs, MSDS binders, warranty information needed for health department code and manufacturer guideline compliance.
  • Assist with development of Emergency Response Planning and adherence to OSHA Safety Standards.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.
  • Provide availability for after-hours on call rotation responsibilities as appropriate and assigned.
  • Contribute to achieving a consistently excellent member experience resulting in high member satisfaction ratings and low member attrition.
  • Address all member and staff concerns as well as any other issues that directly affect the membership, staff, facility, and/or programs by providing a prompt and customer- friendly response.

  • Assure quality standards are being met by conducting daily facility rounding including, but not limited to, cleanliness, equipment function, staffing responsibility coverage, etc.
