About The Position

Busch Vacuum Solutions is seeking an experienced Facility Technician for a direct hire opportunity at their manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Facility Technician will be responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general facility systems. This role involves ordering and maintaining supplies for preventative maintenance, performing scheduled maintenance, and assisting with daily and emergency repairs, building security, grounds maintenance, and manufacturing equipment maintenance as needed. This is a 1st shift position, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. The targeted compensation range is $22.00–$27.00 per hour.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment required.
  • Valid driver's license that must be maintained throughout employment and meet Busch insurance standards required.
  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check.
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE.
  • Ability and willingness to travel less than 5% domestically for training purposes.
  • Ability to work off-hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to support facility maintenance and business needs.
  • Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, grasping, and manual manipulation throughout the shift.
  • Occasional reaching, climbing, crawling, squatting, and kneeling.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to work at heights above 20 feet using an articulating lift.
  • Ability to work around facility and manufacturing equipment and in areas where dust, oil, and grease may be present.
  • Must be able to see and hear visual and audible alarms and wear all required PPE, including safety glasses, electrical-hazard-rated safety footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, and personal fall protection.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of HVAC experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of forklift operating experience preferred.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the building HVAC system.
  • Perform scheduled work requests pertaining to the building and grounds.
  • Perform day-to-day repairs, emergency repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Assist with office moves, furniture moves, and factory equipment moves.
  • Serve as backup for security procedures, including building lock up and opening.
  • Work safely at heights using a scissor lift or boom lift and safely operate a forklift.
  • Order necessary materials and supplies to complete assigned tasks.
  • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
  • Maintain lighting systems throughout the facility.
  • Assist with removal of cardboard, scrap, and debris from the building as necessary.
  • Assist with maintenance of grounds and properties.
  • Assist with manufacturing equipment maintenance when required.
