About The Position

Are you passionate about the environment, highly motivated and interested in making a meaningful impact? We are looking for hard-working people to join our Plastic Pollution Emergency Response Facility's crew that assists in managing incoming debris from ocean, shoreline and marine industrial cleanups from the Pacific Northwest region. Candidates are required to work onsite at the Plastic Pollution Emergency Response Facility in Steveston Harbour (southwest Richmond) from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Shifts will vary depending on production needs, with prior notice. The job consists of processing marine debris such as rope, buoys, barrels, oyster baskets, and styrofoam through different processing stations. This position involves significant physical labour, standing and bending for long periods of time, and requires the ability to complete repetitive tasks, such as untangling and handling rope. The position requires the team member to follow standard operating procedures, adopt safe work practices, and maintain a clean work environment in accordance with BC Occupational Health and Safety regulations. While most work activities are completed indoors, outdoor activities in any weather conditions are also part of the work environment.
