About The Position

Under general supervision, performs basic general technical tasks on electrical systems, fire safety systems, HVAC systems, mechanical and plumbing systems, and architectural systems. Architectural systems may include interior and exterior doors, ceiling systems, and wall systems. General tasks include troubleshooting minor issues on the pneumatic tube system, patient beds, nurse call systems, and televisions. Additional tasks involve shop cleanup and general maintenance and upkeep. The role requires working with a team, taking initiative, and helping to maintain departmental compliance with governmental standards through documentation and computerized maintenance management systems. A clean, neat, and safe work environment must be maintained.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Entry Level Electrical repair, HVAC, and/or Mechanical maintenance, installation or contracting (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational / Technical in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Maintenance preferred
  • 1 year Healthcare or hospital facility maintenance setting (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility.
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • Attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills (for non-clinical areas).
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
