About The Position

The Facility Tech is responsible for maintaining the operational status of the building by performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on various equipment. This role involves working directly with clients, engineering leadership, and vendors to ensure client satisfaction and building functionality. The position requires a professional and helpful demeanor when interacting with customers and a solid understanding of safety and emergency practices.

Ability to work directly with clients, engineering leadership, and vendors to keep the building operational.
Ability to perform ongoing facility maintenance and complete repairs on various equipment.
Ability to perform minor repairs to Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP’s) equipment.
Proficiency in basic general maintenance duties.
Solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
Ability to use the CMMS program in support of work performance.
Knowledge of fire, safety, and other emergency practices.
Ability to maintain electrical power distribution and auxiliaries for the building’s lighting, mechanical, plumbing and control components including lighting maintenance.
Ability to maintain proper operation during seasonal changes and recalibrate controls based upon seasonal conditions to assure energy efficient operation.
Ability to record all pertinent data in building logbooks and make all appropriate daily entries.
Ability to maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
Ability to return all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition.
Willingness to participate in training directed at job-related skills compliance.

Experience with Boilers, Water Treatment, Air Compressors, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Air Dryers, Pumps, Piping, Valves, Pneumatics, Hot Water Converters, DDC Controls, Heat Exchanges, Fuel Oil Systems, Natural Gas Systems, and Air Conditioning Units.

Responsibilities

Operates, maintains, and performs maintenance of central utility services equipment and systems, including boilers, water treatment, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, air dryers, pumps, piping, valves, pneumatics, hot water converters, DDC controls, heat exchangers, fuel oil systems, natural gas systems, and air conditioning units.
Performs basic general maintenance duties.
Completes assigned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs.
Uses the CMMS program in support of work performance.
Fosters a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement of engineering functions.
Learns, understands, and complies with fire, safety, and other emergency practices, and informs supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
Maintains electrical power distribution and auxiliaries for the building’s lighting, mechanical, plumbing, and control components, including lighting maintenance.
Maintains proper operation during seasonal changes and recalibrates controls based upon seasonal conditions to assure energy-efficient operation.
Records all pertinent data in building logbooks and makes appropriate daily entries.
Assists with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall, and wood trim repair.
Maintains maintenance inventory and requisitions parts and supplies as needed.
Assists in emergencies as needed.
Returns all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition.
Participates in training directed at job-related skills compliance.
