About The Position

The Facility Tech is responsible for keeping the building operational by working directly with clients, engineering leadership, and vendors. This role involves performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on various equipment, including minor repairs to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The primary goal is to ensure client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Responds in a professional, polite, and helpful manner when dealing with customers.
  • Works directly with clients, engineering leadership, and vendors to keep the building operational.
  • Performs ongoing facility maintenance and completes repairs on various equipment.
  • Performs minor repairs to Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP’s) equipment.
  • Ensures client satisfaction.
  • Proficient in Basic General Maintenance Duties.
  • Solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Uses the CMMS program in support of work performance.
  • Learns, understands, and complies with fire, safety, and other emergency practices.
  • Maintains electrical power distribution and auxiliaries for the building’s lighting, mechanical, plumbing and control components including lighting maintenance.
  • Records all pertinent data in building logbooks and makes all appropriate daily entries.
  • Assists with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall, and wood trim repair.
  • Maintains maintenance inventory and requisitions parts and supplies as needed.
  • Assists in emergencies as needed.
  • Returns all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Participates in training directed at job-related skills compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Operates, maintains, and performs maintenance of central utility services equipment and systems, including boilers, water treatment, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, air dryers, pumps, piping, valves, pneumatics, hot water converters, DDC controls, heat exchangers, fuel oil systems, natural gas systems, and air conditioning units.
  • Performs basic general maintenance duties.
  • Utilizes hand and power tools and other materials safely to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Completes assigned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs.
  • Uses the CMMS program to support work performance and fosters a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement of engineering functions.
  • Learns, understands, and complies with fire, safety, and other emergency practices, and informs the supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
  • Maintains electrical power distribution and auxiliaries for the building's lighting, mechanical, plumbing, and control components, including lighting maintenance.
  • Maintains proper operation during seasonal changes and recalibrates controls based on seasonal conditions to ensure energy-efficient operation.
  • Records all pertinent data in building logbooks and makes appropriate daily entries.
  • Assists with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall, and wood trim repair.
  • Maintains maintenance inventory and requisitions parts and supplies as needed.
  • Assists in emergencies as needed.
  • Returns all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Participates in training directed at job-related skills compliance.
