About The Position

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Facility Support to join our growing team. The Utility employee will be responsible for assisting on the production lines and performing any job duties as needed by the shift supervisor.

Requirements

  • Be able to accurately identify metric and standard measurements on a tape measure.

Nice To Haves

  • Assist on production lines as needed.
  • Perform duties as a grader on the fiber line.
  • Perform duties as a stacker tender on the prime line.
  • Perform duties as a Skin Packager
  • Perform duties as a warehouseman.
  • Assist operators and millwrights in maintenance and downtime activities.
  • Assist in handling of raw materials and product.
  • Sort skins for shipment.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks as assigned by the Group Manager.
  • Hog rejects skins.
  • Operate forklifts.
  • Follow all start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Use all available safety equipment and keep all safety guards in place.
  • Wear eye, ear, and foot protection when required.
  • Use extreme caution when working on or around machinery.
  • Know and follow JELD-WEN’s Lock-Out and “hot work” policies.
  • Know and be able to locate the designated areas for first aid, MSDS/HMIS forms, radioactive material, and firefighting equipment.
  • Observe and follow HMIS/MSDS requirements.
  • Know locations of all master switches and emergency stops for your work area.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Complete forklift training program and pass operator’s test.
  • Participate in Plant Safety Council.
  • A N95 dust mask type of respirator is required while using compressed air for fiberline clean-up.
  • An air purifying respirator (with the appropriate organic vapor and P100 combination filter) is required when working around liquid or atomized state of pMDI resin, when working around the press exhaust, and when unloading resin.
  • Know and apply all training in the safe handling of pMDI resin.
  • Prepare clear and concise time tickets of each day’s tasks completed.
  • Communicate with the Group Manager at the beginning of shift to receive special work assignments daily.
  • Immediately inform the Group Manager of supply problems, safety hazards, and accidents or injuries.
  • Inform the Operators of your presence when working in their respective areas of the plant.
  • Know doorskin grading specifications, styles, and sizes.
  • Know pallet specifications, for regular and overseas pallets.
  • Participate in Plant Quality Council.
  • Perform minor repairs and assist Millwright with major repairs when directed.
  • Report all worn or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Properly refill propane tanks.
  • Cross train into other positions in the plant when time permits.
  • Abide by all company policies.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Group Manager.
