About The Position

Trimac Transportation is a North American leader in bulk logistics with over 80 years of industry expertise. We are seeking a safety-focused and results-driven Facility Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our shop and washrack. This role ensures the cleanliness, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance of all fleet assets while supervising maintenance and cleaning personnel. Reporting to the Facility Manager or Area Manager, the Facility Supervisor is accountable for team leadership, facility upkeep, regulatory compliance, customer service, and financial stewardship related to equipment maintenance and tank cleaning.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical maintenance and tank cleaning operations.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and environmental regulations.
  • Good time management, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook); experience with digital work order systems is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently in both shop and outdoor environments.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial, maintenance, or cleaning operations.
  • Supervisory or lead hand experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • post-secondary education in Operations, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT/Transport Canada regulations and industry safety standards is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and train shop and washrack personnel.
  • Ensure proper onboarding, coaching, and cross-training across functional areas.
  • Monitor payroll and overtime to ensure labor cost efficiency.
  • Foster a safety-first culture through daily leadership and employee engagement.
  • Ensure the facility, equipment, and grounds are maintained in safe and operational condition.
  • Coordinate maintenance and cleaning of company and customer assets in accordance with Trimac standards.
  • Perform daily inspections of equipment and workflows to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Identify and coordinate repair or replacement needs for mechanical and wash equipment.
  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules and daily workflow to maximize fleet availability.
  • Oversee cleaning and testing processes including hose control, effluent handling, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and cleaning agents; support cost control by monitoring consumption.
  • Ensure service-ready equipment is available to meet operational demand.
  • Enforce compliance with DOT/Transport Canada regulations and environmental policies.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of chemicals and waste materials.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of maintenance, cleanings, and inspections.
  • Lead or support safety meetings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
  • Serve as a liaison between service operations, dispatch, and terminal leadership.
  • Support internal users by ensuring fleet assets meet cleanliness and mechanical readiness requirements.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Monitor and manage parts inventory including consigned stock and usage trends.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost tracking for labor, supplies, and services.
  • Support inventory audits and participate in procurement planning.
