About The Position

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and overall condition of company facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to support safe and efficient operations within a seafood processing and distribution environment. This hands-on leadership role supervises maintenance personnel, coordinates preventative maintenance programs, ensures compliance with safety and food safety standards, and helps minimize equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting and repair management.

Requirements

  • Experience supervising maintenance personnel in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or food distribution environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and facility issues and coordinate timely repairs.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, HACCP, SQF, and food safety requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in maintaining maintenance records and reports.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and provide direction to maintenance technicians and facility personnel.
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily maintenance work orders and projects.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of company buildings, grounds, processing equipment, refrigeration systems, and infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facility systems.
  • Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure safe operating conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HACCP, SQF, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including inspections, repairs, labor hours, and materials used.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, inspections, and facility projects.
  • Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
  • Assist in developing and implementing facility improvement initiatives and capital projects.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues and support operational needs as required.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
