About The Position

The Facilities Specialist IV is a senior, hands-on facilities role with a primary focus on commercial/industrial plumbing systems and overall facility maintenance. This position supports office, lab, cleanroom, and manufacturing support environments, ensuring building systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. The role works independently, serves as a technical resource for others, and coordinates contractors as needed.

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts Plumber License (Journeyman or Master, commercial/industrial)
  • 7–10 years of facilities maintenance experience with a strong plumbing focus
  • Proven technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working independently in an operational environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting cleanroom, laboratory, or manufacturing support environments
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms such as Maximo
  • Knowledge of building systems and coordination with HVAC and controls teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary and process waste systems, fixtures, pumps, valves, and related components.
  • Perform facility-wide maintenance activities in addition to plumbing, including mechanical repairs, minor electrical/low-voltage support, and building repairs (within scope of training and qualifications).
  • Support cleanroom, laboratory, and manufacturing support plumbing systems, including water quality, pressure regulation, drainage, and system reliability.
  • Use CMMS (e.g., Maximo) to manage work orders, preventive maintenance, inspections, and asset history.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors performing plumbing and facility services, ensuring work meets safety, quality, and code requirements.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing-related alarms or issues that impact operations and environmental controls.
  • Document work clearly and accurately using CMMS and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Participate, unless otherwise noted, in a weekly on-call rotation to support after-hours or emergency facility needs.
