About The Position

As a Plumber IV at a Modigent operating company, you will serve as a senior-level, highly skilled journeyman plumber and technical leader on complex commercial plumbing projects. This role is ideal for master-level tradespeople who combine advanced technical expertise with leadership abilities to mentor teams, solve challenging problems, and ensure exceptional project outcomes in commercial, industrial, and institutional settings.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive commercial plumbing experience with mastery of complex systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Journeyman or Master plumbing license required (or the ability to obtain promptly).
  • OSHA 30 required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently bend, lift, stand, and walk on uneven terrain or in confined spaces, and safely climb ladders/scaffolding.
  • Mastery of commercial plumbing systems, materials, codes, and installation techniques.
  • Advanced blueprint reading, layout, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to the highest standards of workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex commercial plumbing installations, repairs, and system commissioning with minimal supervision.
  • Read and interpret advanced blueprints, specifications, and project documents to plan and execute high-quality work.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve difficult plumbing issues, including high-pressure systems, specialized equipment, and code compliance challenges.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to Plumber I, II, and III team members on the job site.
  • Oversee portions of projects, coordinate with other trades, and ensure work meets or exceeds all codes, standards, and customer expectations.
  • Participate in pre-job planning, safety meetings, and project closeout activities.
  • Complete detailed documentation, as-builts, and required records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Champion safety, quality, and professionalism on every project.
  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and day-to-day direction to junior plumbers and helpers.
  • May act as a lead or first-level supervisor on assigned projects.
