About The Position

The Facility Services Porter I is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of various areas within the facility, including galleys, conference centers, common areas, and offices. This role involves regular cleaning, stocking supplies, preparing for meetings and events, and providing support to staff and attendees. The position also requires ordering and receiving supplies, assisting service providers, and cross-training in other facility functions. The ideal candidate will be reliable, possess strong customer service skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with 6 months day porter experience.
  • Some experience with Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with little to no loss in productivity or efficiency.
  • Ability to recognize and suggest opportunities within the department for improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated reliability and ability to work flexible work schedule, including some overtime.
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk and conduct physical activities such as receiving deliveries, cleaning, and other requirements relative to providing facility and conference services.
  • Must be able to push/pull mobile carts and furniture into place.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and cleans galleys daily, stocking coffee and tea supplies, and cleaning refrigerators weekly.
  • Monitors and cleans conference center, conference rooms, café, and other common areas regularly, reporting any maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Monitors and cleans the catering pantry, including dishes, countertops, sinks, and equipment after meetings and events, and empties garbage bins as needed.
  • Orders galley and catering supplies as needed, receives, unpacks, and stores them properly.
  • Provides day-of support for large meetings and conferences, preparing drinks and catering deliveries, and assisting staff and attendees.
  • Cleans offices and office furniture for moves, new hires, and as requested.
  • Cross-trains and provides back-up to other facility functions, communicating effectively with supervisors and team members, and taking direction while working independently.
  • Escorts service providers and vendors as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
