About The Position

CNA's Facilities department is hiring for a Facility Services Porter. This is a full-time role that proactively supports the Facilities Department in maintaining and keeping offices, furniture, and the overall facility neat, clean and in an orderly, professional condition. This role also assists Conference Operations with set-up, clean-up, and food and beverage distribution for meetings and events. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with 6 months day porter experience.
  • Some experience with Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with little to no loss in productivity or efficiency.
  • Ability to recognize and suggest opportunities within the department for improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated reliability and ability to work flexible work schedule, including some overtime.
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk and conduct physical activities such as receiving deliveries, cleaning, other requirements relative to providing facility and conference services.
  • Must be able to push/pull mobile carts and furniture into place.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for positions requiring access to classified information.
  • Individuals will also be subject to an additional government background investigation, and continued employment eligibility is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and cleans galleys at least daily. Stocks coffee and tea supplies, including bean to brew coffee systems. Cleans refrigerators weekly.
  • Monitors and cleans conference center, conference rooms, café, and other common areas on a regular basis. Notifies supervisor if any space needs attention, such as light replacement, heating/cooling, repairs, etc.
  • Monitors and cleans catering pantry. Cleans dishes, countertops, sinks, and equipment after meetings and events, and stores items away. Keeps equipment clean and reports problems and necessary repairs to supervisor. Empties garbage bins if necessary.
  • Orders galley and catering supplies as needed. Receives supplies, unpacks, and properly stores.
  • Provides “day-of” support for large meetings and conferences. Prepares drinks and catering deliveries as required. Interfaces and assists staff and meeting attendees in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Cleans offices and office furniture in preparation for moves, new hires, and as requested.
  • Cross trains and provides back-up to other facility functions. Effectively communicates with supervisor and other team members. Takes direction from others and can work independently.
  • Escorts service providers and vendors, as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
