About The Position

The Facility Security Officer provides security and access-control services at a facility in West Caldwell, New Jersey. The position involves communicating with employees, customers, vendors, and visitors; conducting patrols and inspections; assisting with enforcement of company and site-specific security procedures; handling facility access badges; and monitoring video surveillance. The schedule lists Monday through Friday shifts from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 4 p.m. to midnight, as well as all shifts on Saturday and Sunday. The listed pay rate is $19.00.

Requirements

Valid SORA license or willingness to obtain one.
Ability to work effectively under variable weather conditions.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and consistent accuracy.
Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and/or by radio.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Reliability, self-motivation, and flexibility.
Expected to work weekends and holidays.
Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Responsibilities

Communicate professionally with employees, customers, vendors, and visitors.
Answer incoming telephone calls and direct or transfer callers to the appropriate department.
Conduct routine security inspections and patrols of multiple buildings throughout the facility.
Assist with enforcing company policies and site-specific security procedures.
Perform building opening and closing security procedures, including activating and deactivating intrusion alarm systems according to established protocols.
Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.
Process and issue facility access badges for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Monitor live video surveillance, identify security concerns, and report unusual or unauthorized activity.
