About The Position

RenXTech, a subsidiary of Buchanan & Edwards, is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven, and experienced Facility Security Officer (FSO). The FSO will ensure effective company and program-level security implementation and compliance with security policies, procedures, and federal requirements in coordination with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and intelligence community (IC) government clients. This role is also responsible for all Defense Information System for Security (DISS) activities and maintaining security compliance with federal contracts. This hands-on, compliance-oriented role is critical for maintaining the organization’s Facility Clearance Level (FCL) and for safeguarding classified information and personnel. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience supporting SCI-level and higher classified programs, personnel, clearances, and facilities in accordance with IC and DCSA standards. This is a hybrid position requiring regular on-site presence (2 days per week) at our McLean, VA location. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Must have an Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • Completed CDSE FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities course
  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Security Management, Homeland Security, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant FSO experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 9+ years of relative experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • This position requires applicants to have an active TS/SCI, at a minimum, with recent FSO experience on classified programs.
  • Experience working with DoD, FBI, and sensitive IC clients
  • In-depth working knowledge with SC (for a restricted client), NISPOM, Clearance Regulations, and extensive experience with multiple agencies
  • Strong knowledge of DISS adjudication system, visit certs, validating clearances and training requirements along with other, hard-copy processing as may be required
  • Completion of the FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities course via the Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE)
  • Strong understanding of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DCSA self-inspections/annual reviews/assessments, DD254s, and sponsor requirements
  • Proficiency with DISS, NBIS, SWFT, NISS, e-App, and related systems, and experience coordinating with DCSA and government sponsors

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the appointed FSO for a cleared facility under DCSA oversight, ensuring compliance with DCSA, NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), federal regulations, and all contract security requirements
  • Maintains the Facility Clearance Level (FCL) in good standing, including NISS reporting, oversight of Key Management Personnel (KMP), coordination of facility changes, and interface with DCSA during audits
  • Acts as primary point of contact for DCSA, DoD, IC, and other federal agencies, PMs, and subcontractors
  • Manages all personnel security actions (DISS, NBIS), including clearances, investigations, visit requests, crossover processing, SF-86 support, security incidents and violations, and adverse information reporting
  • Oversees safeguarding, storage, and control of classified information and materials in accordance with federal requirements
  • Maintains accurate security documentation and records (personnel, visitor, and document control) using Access Commander and other required systems
  • Supports Insider Threat Program implementation and provides coordination with the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO)
  • Prepares and reviews DD254s and ensures subcontractors and teammates are appropriately cleared, briefed, and compliant
  • Supports classified program execution and proposal support by coordinating with program managers, contracts, primes, clients, and IT/cybersecurity teams
  • Communicates security requirements and provides guidance to employees, subcontractors, and project teams
  • Administers security education, training, and awareness programs (initial, refresher, classification briefings, and debriefings)
  • Tracks and fulfills security requirements for new hires, terminations, and program support activities
  • Stays current on evolving security policies and directives; produces a monthly security newsletter; recommends process improvements to enhance compliance and efficiency
