About The Position

The Facility Program Assistant – Fitness & Wellness provides support to the Fitness & Wellness area by monitoring patrons, providing customer service, set up and take down of equipment and performing general cleaning tasks. This role is casual and requires availability for weekends, evenings, weekdays, early mornings, and potential split shifts as business needs require. Requirements

  • Grade 10 or equivalent.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Intermediate First Aid Certificate
  • Commitment to the City’s Cornerstone Values.

Responsibilities

  • Support recreation programs and events by assisting participants, staff, and instructors.
  • Set up and take down equipment and spaces.
  • Ensure supplies and equipment are available and used safely.
  • Maintain basic knowledge of assigned programs.
  • Share participant feedback with appropriate staff.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting patrons in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Answer questions and address concerns.
  • Verify registrations, memberships, and wristbands.
  • Follow customer service standards and principles.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming facility by monitoring assigned areas and patron activity.
  • Manage traffic flow in public spaces.
  • Participate in emergency response procedures.
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions.
  • Support facility cleanliness and upkeep by performing general housekeeping and light maintenance tasks.
  • Store equipment properly.
  • Report maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate staff.
  • Follow health and safety requirements by complying with organizational health and safety policies.
  • Participate in required training, inspections, and incident reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by a supervisor.
