About The Position

This role involves performing routine cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the building, including common areas, hallways, entrances, offices, and staff areas. The Facility Porter will be responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking washrooms, maintaining floors and surfaces, and managing waste disposal. This position also includes monitoring building cleanliness, addressing spills and hazards, refilling supplies, and assisting with seasonal or event-related cleaning. The role supports general facility upkeep, maintains a safe work environment, and requires adherence to health and safety procedures. Collaboration with management and staff is essential, along with supporting team members and performing additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cleaning, janitorial, porter, or facility maintenance experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping throughout the building, including common areas, hallways, entrances, offices, and staff areas.
  • Clean, sanitize, and restock washrooms regularly throughout shifts.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors and surfaces to ensure a clean and presentable environment.
  • Remove garbage and recycling from designated areas and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Monitor building cleanliness and promptly address spills, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
  • Refill washroom and janitorial supplies including soap, paper towel, toilet paper, and sanitizer stations.
  • Assist with seasonal or event-related cleaning requirements as needed.
  • Support general facility upkeep and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and safe cleaning practices.
  • Work cooperatively with management and staff to respond to operational needs.
  • Support team members and assist with additional duties as required.
