Maintenance- Facility Painter- 1st Shift

About The Position

The Facility Painter maintains the aesthetic and protective quality of buildings and facilities by preparing surfaces and applying paint and other finishes. The role serves the Batavia and Mt. Orab sites as part of their Facility Maintenance teams and reports directly to the Facility Maintenance Manager at Batavia. In addition to painting duties, the employee performs general maintenance support tasks, which may include setting up conference rooms, cleaning filters during facility shutdowns, and assisting other maintenance team members with departmental goals and operational needs. The employee will be trained to use a boom lift.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent knowledge.
At least 1 year of painting experience.
Ability to work at heights.
Valid driver's license.

3 years of painting experience in an industrial facility.

Responsibilities

Inspect and assess areas to be painted and plan the work.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks.
Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes.
Apply finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
Remove old paint from surfaces.
Set up scaffolding or ladders to perform work above ground level.
Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to protect them.
Calculate the quantity of materials needed for each job.
Track paint supplies and order additional supplies as needed.
Maintain painting equipment and tools.
Clean supplies and equipment after each job.
Follow safety guidelines.
Perform general maintenance support tasks, including conference room setup, filter cleaning during facility shutdowns, and assisting maintenance team members.
