About The Position

The Facility Operator helps maintain the cleanliness of the plant property, including buildings and grounds. The role also performs other unskilled and semi-skilled tasks as required and in a safe manner. Area assignments are rotated. All work is conducted in accordance with the CARBO Mission Statement and Core Values. The position involves physical work and operating a front-end loader to move ore as needed. Working conditions include exposure to moderate noise, vibrations, bright lights, dust, fumes, gases, and varying climate conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, and snow. The operator may need to use common protective equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing and breathing protection, and hard hats.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience with general labor work.
Ability to read and write and comprehend oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform physical activities including bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, squatting, crouching, and crawling.
Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads and move and lift a wooden skid or pallet weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods on a forklift or other warehouse equipment.
Ability to wear protective or safety equipment as needed, including safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, breathing protection, and hard hats.
Ability to work under stressful conditions and react quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
Ability to complete tasks despite frequent interruptions and use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
Ability to speak clearly on the phone and with fellow workers.
