About The Position

The Facility Operator helps maintain the cleanliness of the plant property, including buildings and grounds. The role also performs other unskilled and semi-skilled tasks as required and in a safe manner. Area assignments are rotated. All work is conducted in accordance with the CARBO Mission Statement and Core Values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with general labor work is required.
• Ability to read and write and comprehend oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and carrying, including moving and lifting a 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
• Ability to perform physical activities including bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, squatting, crouching, and crawling.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods on a forklift or other warehouse equipment.
• Ability to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, breathing protection, and hard hats when needed.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions at times and complete tasks despite frequent interruptions.
• Ability to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
• Ability to speak clearly on the phone and with fellow workers.
• Ability to react quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.

Responsibilities

• Clean plant buildings and grounds.
• Perform manual tasks as directed by the supervisor.
• Assist with the bagging operation as directed.
• Perform other related duties and special projects as required.
• Operate a front-end loader to move ore as needed.
• Travel throughout the facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
