About The Position

Oklo is developing its Groves Facility in Lockhart, Texas. The Facility Operations Specialist is a cross-functional, on-site role that provides essential support to facility readiness and day-to-day operations. This position supports safe and reliable operations by performing assigned duties across auxiliary operations, maintenance, work control, facility improvements, logistics, material handling, administrative support, and designated radiation-protection and security-support activities. The specialist serves as a flexible resource to operators and facility management, enabling efficient routine work and timely response to emergent needs. The Facility Operations Specialist will perform only those activities for which they are trained, qualified, and authorized under approved procedures. Work will be performed under the direction of the accountable Operations, Radiation Protection, Security, Safety, or facility program owner, as applicable. Additional duties may include equipment and material receipt, equipment inventory tracking, equipment setup and installation, contractor coordination, recordkeeping, work tracking, housekeeping, hazard controls, and support for Groves Facility site-service interfaces.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, an associate degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
Facility maintenance, equipment-installation, construction-support, or contractor-coordination experience.
Knowledge of operation and maintenance of facility mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to perform the essential functions of an on-site industrial role, including standing, walking, lifting, and working around industrial equipment.
Ability to read and follow procedures, document completed work accurately, and maintain facility records.
Ability to perform cross-functional support duties after completing applicable training and qualification requirements.
Forklift or other material-handling equipment experience, or the ability to qualify.
Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and reliability in an operational environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience at a nuclear, U.S. Department of Energy, national-laboratory, advanced-reactor, high-hazard, or similarly regulated industrial facility.
Experience supporting site organizations, contractors, vendors, and service providers in an industrial operating environment.
Radiation-worker, contamination-control, or radiation-protection-support experience.
Site access-control or security-support experience.
Forklift, lift, crane, cart, or other material-handling-equipment qualifications.
Logistics, inventory tracking, work control, project coordination, or facility-readiness experience.

Responsibilities

Provide auxiliary operations support for facility activities in accordance with approved procedures, site requirements, and direction from Operations leadership.
Support routine operational evolutions, equipment rounds, facility inspections, maintenance activities, work coordination, and facility-readiness tasks.
Assist Radiation Protection personnel with designated activities, which may include radiological surveys, radiological access control, contamination monitoring, and documentation, when trained, qualified, and authorized.
Support site access-control and security-interface activities as assigned and in accordance with approved security procedures.
Perform administrative and programmatic support, including recordkeeping, procedure use, work tracking, scheduling support, and coordination of on-site activities.
Operate material-handling and support equipment, such as forklifts, cranes, lifts, and carts, when trained, qualified, and authorized.
Support industrial-safety programs, hazard controls, housekeeping, corrective actions, and maintenance of safe work areas.
Assist with material receipt, staging, storage, equipment inventory tracking, deliveries, and other site logistics activities.
Support facility upgrades, equipment installation and setup, utility and support-system work, and contractor activities.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors by supporting site access, work-area preparation, material staging, field activities, and issue resolution.
Respond to abnormal or emergent facility conditions in assigned support roles under the direction of Operations or emergency-response leadership.
Support Groves Facility site access, deliveries, and site-services coordination as directed.
Maintain required training, qualifications, and certifications for assigned duties.
