About The Position

The Facility Operations Manager is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Executive Pastor/Director of Central Support for oversight of the North and South Region Associate Facility Managers to maintain excellence in our facilities and buildings. They are also responsible for all aspects of maintenance, operation, appearance, cleanliness, and scheduling of the Brentwood campus and supporting the on-site ministries of the church and all ministries and support teams.

  • Understanding of facility and maintenance practices on both a technical and practical level.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification and membership in IFMA or the National Association of Church Facility Managers Association preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise facility leadership on all Brentwood Baptist campuses; this includes effective and consistent engagement to remain in a position of influence and support of facilities activity and systems at all campuses.
  • Formulate and coordinate program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts, and associated documents in connection with all aspects of facility management.
  • Collaborate effectively with other stakeholders to establish, define, clarify, and document relevant systems, protocols, standards, and best practices for the execution of maintaining and improving all Brentwood Baptist Church properties.
  • Oversee development of the annual maintenance budgets to include operating needs as well as capital needs for all campuses.
  • Serve, as appropriate, to mentor and develop leaders in the various facilities disciplines.
  • Serve as the Champion for all Facilities related support tools, such as Event Scheduler and Work Order Management platforms.
  • Supervise and manage the Facility Crew Supervisor and the Facility Crew at the Brentwood Campus.
  • Supervise and manage the Maintenance Team at the Brentwood Campus
  • Administer the maintenance of all systems including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Operate the computerized building security system and access control system in connection with local police department and/or security providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and guidelines and acts as liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies, as required.
  • Maintain door access control system and air phone system.
  • Oversee and direct maintenance personnel and workers engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain building by performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
  • Arrange for continuous maintenance of grounds to include plants, shrubs, grass, trees, and irrigation system.
  • Arrange and coordinate semi and annual Fire Marshal inspections, fire sprinkler inspections, fire alarm system, and other life and safety issues.
  • Serve as a resource and consultant to the people group congregations within the church who have regular facilities needs for the support of their worship services and events.
  • Attend staff meetings, complete forms and reports, including goal forms and reports, in a timely and concise manner.
  • Plan, budget and schedule facilities modifications, maintenance, and repair including cost estimate, bid sheets, layouts and contracts using sound purchasing concepts and adherence to budgets.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance plan for physical assets.
  • Develop an annual maintenance budget to include operating expenses as well as capital needs.
  • Develop and maintain a Facility Management support manual.
  • Formulate and coordinate program specifications, requirements for proposal and contracts, and associated documents in connection with all aspects of facility management.
  • Arrange for maintenance of church owned vehicles and coordinates scheduling for vehicles.
  • Arrange for cleaning of snow and debris from sidewalks and parking lots.
  • Perform other duties as required.
