Requirements

  • Two years experience as a Facility Operations Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Three years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Five years of experience performing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings which includes three years of supervisory experience overseeing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings, or utility plant operations.
  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate construction and renovation work by working with staff, architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Help guide preventive maintenance efforts and assist in training maintenance staff on proper procedures
  • Meet with facility leaders to review needs and assist with planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Inspect buildings for safety issues and prepare updates or reports concerning deficiencies
  • Plan in house projects, check material needs, and monitor energy use to support efficient operations
  • Assist with material and stock levels, recycling efforts, fleet management, and scrap disposal to help keep facilities running smoothly
