The Department of Agriculture and Markets is hiring a permanent Facility Operations Assistant 1, SG-6 to work at the Great New York State Fair. The Facility Operations Assistant 1 will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining event facilities and providing event services, such as set-up, equipment operation services, and post-event cleanup for year-round events and the annual State Fair. The duties may include operating vehicles and equipment for snow removal, groundskeeping care, and any routine duties related to the daily care of the facilities and grounds. The incumbent may work in a small or large crew on a specific assignment.
Requirements
- Physically able to perform the tasks of the position
- Able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions
- Possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated (when required to operate motor vehicles)
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and maintaining event facilities
- Providing event services, such as set-up
- Equipment operation services
- Post-event cleanup for year-round events and the annual State Fair
- Operating vehicles and equipment for snow removal
