About The Position

The WSYMCA is seeking enthusiastic Facility Monitors to join our team at our Church St and Wells Ave locations! This role involves overseeing athletic facilities, including participants and equipment, and assisting with sports classes. The primary goal is to ensure that Y sports programs emphasize participation, inclusion, fun, and fair play, fostering skill development, promoting exercise and health, and instilling values for a positive sports experience.

Requirements

Minimum age of 15.
Certifications: CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid.
Experience in sports as both a player and coach/instructor.

Nice To Haves

Flexible schedule in the afternoon, evening and weekends preferred.

Responsibilities

Arrives to scheduled shifts at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled start.
Responsible for supervision of indoor gymnasium/track and outdoor field and track, as well as all equipment.
Maintain participant and spectator safety at all times.
Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).
Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
Adhere to and enforce all rules of Gym/Track and Track/Field.
Conduct the program in a manner that will fulfill the YMCA’s mission.
Assist with gym programs when necessary-set up/break down of equipment, allow access to equipment for authorized personnel.
Willingness to accept responsibilities and duties other than those assigned.
