About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Facility Manager to lead the overall performance of our Glendale, Arizona facility. This position is responsible for managing facility operations, employees, safety and environmental compliance, equipment reliability, production capacity, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who can develop employees, establish accountability, analyze performance trends, resolve recurring problems, and maintain a safe, organized, compliant, and productive work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous facility, plant, production, or operations management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading employees and managing daily operational performance.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety, environmental compliance, preventive maintenance, and facility management.
  • Experience using KPIs, scorecards, or other performance-management systems.
  • Ability to analyze problems, determine root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance or operational reporting systems.
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment and respond to operational needs outside normal business hours when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, engineering, environmental science, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with SPCC programs, environmental permitting, waste handling, and secondary-containment requirements.
  • Experience managing preventive maintenance programs and capital-improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with FMEA, RPN risk prioritization, 5-Why analysis, Lean principles, and continuous-improvement practices.
  • Previous experience managing an industrial processing, recycling, manufacturing, waste-management, or similar facility.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the facility’s daily operations, staffing, production capacity, workflow, housekeeping, and operational priorities.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and other resources to meet production and service requirements.
  • Identify operational constraints and implement solutions that improve productivity, quality, reliability, and cost performance.
  • Communicate facility priorities, performance expectations, and operational risks to employees and senior leadership.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental permits, approved waste-handling practices, and disposal requirements.
  • Oversee Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure ( SPCC ) requirements, secondary containment, inspections, documentation, spill prevention, and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure incidents, spills, environmental concerns, and compliance risks are properly documented, investigated, corrected, and escalated.
  • Keep the facility prepared for internal, customer, regulatory, and environmental audits.
  • Manage the facility’s preventive maintenance program and ensure PM work is completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Monitor critical equipment inspections, overdue maintenance, downtime, recurring failures, and equipment availability.
  • Coordinate repairs and establish priorities based on safety, compliance, production impact, and operational risk.
  • Identify critical spare-parts requirements and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Develop recommendations for equipment repairs, replacements, and capital improvements.
  • Maintain and regularly update the facility’s Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Prioritize operational risks using Risk Priority Numbers ( RPNs ), safety considerations, compliance exposure, and production impact.
  • Lead corrective and preventive actions designed to eliminate recurring problems.
  • Conduct 5-Why root-cause analyses for incidents, failures, downtime, and other significant operational issues.
  • Verify that corrective actions are effective and sustainable before closing them.
  • Encourage employee participation in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Own and maintain facility KPI scorecards, management sheets, and performance reporting.
  • Track safety, compliance, production, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance completion, staffing, cost, downtime, and other critical operating measures.
  • Analyze performance trends to identify potential concerns before they develop into recurring problems.
  • Establish action plans for performance gaps and follow through until measurable improvement is achieved.
  • Provide accurate and timely facility performance updates to leadership.
  • Recruit, train, coach, develop, and retain a capable facility team.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold employees accountable for results.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, attendance, training needs, and employee performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures ( SOPs ).
  • Establish cross-training plans to strengthen workforce flexibility and operational coverage.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, coaching conversations, and performance reviews.
  • Address performance, conduct, or policy concerns promptly and consistently.
  • Lead and maintain a strong 5S workplace organization program.
  • Ensure the facility remains clean, organized, standardized, properly maintained, and audit-ready.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and promptly correct identified deficiencies.
  • Identify conditions that could create safety, environmental, compliance, productivity, or equipment-reliability risks.
  • Reinforce ownership and accountability for maintaining facility standards across all departments.
