This role will be critical in the startup of this site as well as instilling safety, culture, and operational excellence. EJ is the leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of access solutions for water, sewer, drainage, telecommunications, and utility networks. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Management, or a related field preferred; and four to ten years of progressively responsible manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in a foundry, heavy manufacturing, or industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.
  • Partners with the Director of Operations to develop and implement strategies, policies, and performance targets for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Leads, manages, and coordinates functional departments to achieve business unit goals for safety, quality, delivery, capital and operational expenses, productivity, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Supports corporate-sponsored initiatives and ensures effective implementation at the facility level.
  • Promotes and leads by example the company’s core values, mission, and operating philosophies. Follows policies and procedures and recommends changes when necessary.
  • Communicates company philosophy, expectations, and business priorities to subordinate managers and supports consistent alignment with company culture.
  • Oversees foundry production operations, establishes priorities, and determines sequencing to meet customer, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Ensures operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications.
  • Reviews operational reports and addresses production, quality, safety, environmental, and maintenance maters to control costs, prevent delays, and support continuous improvement.
  • Approves standard operating procedures and work practices are compliant with established standards.
  • Partners with Human Resources to address employee relations matters, workforce planning, staffing needs, training, performance management, and other people-related issues.
  • Oversees the collection, storage, review, and use of production, quality, maintenance, safety, and financial data to support informed decision-making.
  • Serves as the responsible official for signing and submitting environmental and safety regulatory reports, as required.
  • Communicates effectively with employees across all departments, shifts, and levels of the organization.
  • Encourages teamwork, accountability, and collaboration across all departments.
  • Leads and supports continuous improvement efforts, including process improvement, cost reduction, waste reduction, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Maintains awareness and compliance of applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to manufacturing operations, workplace safety, environmental compliance, and foundry operations.
  • Manages subordinate managers and leaders in areas that may include Manufacturing, Engineering/Maintenance, Safety/Environmental, Human Resources, Quality, and other support functions. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned departments. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; recognizing and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
