About The Position
Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285-bed long-term care facility that has served more than 2,782 Veterans from all branches of the armed forces since admitting the first resident on August 25, 1991. Thomson-Hood is the largest facility operated by the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs. The Thomson Hood Veterans Center is looking for self-motivated energetic Maintenance Worker II. This position has an approved Locality Premium of $3.66, based on the organizational structure and work county it is currently assigned to, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1). The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care.
Requirements
- One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.
- Must be 18 years of age.
Nice To Haves
- Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and performs the work of employees and assist the supervisor in the maintenance of buildings.
- Operation of electrical systems, plumbing systems, sewer and associated equipment,
- Performs other duties as required.
