About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) which serve 115 local feeder districts. A state Area Technology Center (ATC) is a secondary state operated school facility dedicated to the primary purpose of offering state approved four (4)- course Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways within CTE program areas identified by the OCTE. The Area Technology Centers under the Office of Career and Technical Education are organizationally part of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), a service agency within the Commonwealth of Kentucky under the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. This position offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic, challenging, and student-focused environment.

Requirements

  • One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • General maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds.
  • Maintains and makes necessary repairs to all electrical systems, plumbing, and associated equipment.
  • Making carpentry repairs to buildings and equipment.
  • Performs janitorial duties in maintaining buildings and adjacent areas.
  • Paints surfaces and operates machinery and equipment as well as performs duties as assigned.
