About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and fully operational Planet Fitness club. This position performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and facility upkeep to ensure members and team members enjoy a positive experience in a clean, well-maintained environment. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with club management to complete work orders promptly, minimize equipment downtime, and uphold Planet Fitness brand standards.

  • Basic computer skills for completing work orders and maintenance logs.
  • Frequently lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work overhead for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures and confined spaces when necessary.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of the club to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on fitness equipment and club facilities.
  • Repair or coordinate repairs for cardio equipment, strength equipment, tanning beds, HydroMassage units, Total Body Enhancement machines, massage chairs, and other club amenities.
  • Maintain HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, doors, locks, flooring, ceiling tiles, and walls.
  • Ensure restrooms, locker rooms, showers, and common areas remain in excellent working condition.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair fitness equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform scheduled lubrication, adjustments, calibration, and replacement of worn components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs for all equipment inspections and repairs.
  • Coordinate with approved vendors for warranty repairs and specialized service.
  • Follow established preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct regular inspections of life safety equipment, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, AEDs, and exit signs.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend replacement or upgrades when necessary.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with company standards and local building codes.
