About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Technician is a key member of the location team, primarily responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical equipment, boiler systems, and environmental control systems throughout all departments. The role helps ensure a safe environment for customers and supports the travel center’s customer-service goals. The technician also performs general facility repairs, coordinates outside contractors, manages maintenance supplies, and oversees work by porters and housekeeping staff. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with vocational training in general maintenance and equipment repair.
• Demonstrated ability in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibilities.
• Ability to operate machinery and equipment, including tow motors, equipment, and basic hand tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

• HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform installations, inspections, repairs, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical equipment, boiler systems, and environmental control systems in all departments of the location.
• Complete general repairs, including painting and caulking, patching walls, security hardware, roof and pavement repairs, tile and floor repairs, hanging shelves, facility lighting, and landscaping.
• Coordinate outside contractors and ensure the work is being performed according to its scope.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Coordinate, assign, and inspect porter and housekeeping work for completeness.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
